New DC in 22 districts including Dhaka
The government has appointed new deputy commissioner (DC) in 22 districts including Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Sylhet, Rangpur and Mymensingh.
This appointment was made on Sunday by the Public Administration Ministry. Of them, 19 are new. Three DCs have been transferred from one district to another.
Narsinghdi DC Subhash Chandra Biswas has been transferred to DC from DC, DC Abdul Awal, Jessore and Kurigram DC DC Abu Saleh Mohammad Ferdous Khan.
The deputy commissioners of the government's deputy secretary rank are appointed. DC at the district level represented the central government.
On December 20 last year, the Deputy Commissioner was promoted to the Deputy Commissioner. 14 of them have been removed from different ministries, divisions and organizations. On the other hand, three DC districts have been changed. Besides, five DCs of the Deputy Secretary were removed.
Among the joint secretaries, Shariatpur DC Mahmudul Hossain Khan is the director of BRDB, Comilla DC. Jahangir Alam, director of Disaster Management Department, Rangpur DC Muhammad Wahiduzzaman is director of Bangladesh Tourism Board, Jessore DC Ashraf Uddin is Director of Environment Department, DC Rahat Anwar of Sylhet, Director of Bangladesh Television, Bandarban DC Dilip Kumar Banik has been appointed as Director of Bangladesh Freedom Fighters Welfare Trust and Chandpur DC Abdus Sabur Mondal has been made Director of Bangladesh Tourism Corporation.
Besides, Dhaka South City Corporation's Regional Executive Officer AKM Mamunur Rashid was made to Rangamati, Deputy Secretary of Public Safety Kamal Hossain in Cox's Bazar, Deputy Secretary of the Local Government Division Saroj Kumar Nath, Jhenaidah, Deputy Secretary of the Public Administration Mohammad Masud Alam Siddique, Bhola, Deputy Director of Local Government Department at Lalmonirhat . Sultana Parvin is in Kurigram, Deputy Secretary of the Public Administration Ministry Syeda Farhana Kauhanin in Narsingdi, Power Division's Deputy Secretary Mahmudul Kabir Murad has been appointed in Habiganj and Cantonment Executive Officer of Dhaka Cantonment Board SM Abdul Kader as DC of Rajshahi.
It is to be noted that the district administration looks after the general administration activities, district magistrates as well as the law and order in the district and the land management issues as collectors. Besides, the Deputy Commissioner supervises the special programs and ongoing development works of the elected government.
